Numerical and experimental investigations on a friction ring damper for a flywheel

A damping strategy using a friction ring damper for an industrial flywheel was numerically and experimentally investigated. The damper, located on the arms of flywheel, found to effectively reduce vibration amplitude flywheel. energy dissipated when relative motions occur at contact interfaces. Nonlinear dynamic analysis based lumped-parameter model equipped with conducted. normal load, N, used evaluate performance damper.
